Opinions on the internet
Various fragrance enthusiasts online are giving Odyssey Homme glowing reviews. For example, YouTuber Paragon Fragrances is immediately impressed with the packaging. However, he does have some reservations about the unusual cap.
The sprayer works well, and he thinks the opening of the fragrance resembles a mix of Noir Extreme and Homme Intense. However, he finds the Armaf version slightly fresher. Overall, he's very pleased with the price and quality of this dupe.
Dev’s Scents also tested the perfume several times for his video. He was especially impressed with its performance, as it lasted 8 to 10 hours on him! He thinks this budget-friendly alternative is perfect for a night out or a date night, though it's also great for daytime wear.
On TikTok, Odyssey Homme is seen as a classic, sexy, and high-quality fragrance that’s also very affordable. It’s noted for its long-lasting scent and is considered great for evening wear.
On Reddit, it's also mentioned that Odyssey Homme shares the same DNA as Noir Extreme, and the performance is rated very highly as well.
Odyssey Homme by Armaf gets 4.25 out of 5 stars on Fragrantica! Reviews on the site consistently mention how similar this dupe is to Noir Extreme. It’s also noted that it’s less suitable for warmer months, making it more ideal for fall through spring.
Lastly, we also checked out Parfumo, where the perfume scored a solid pass!
Our Own Experience
We tested Odyssey Homme by Armaf ourselves and are really impressed with both the scent and performance, lasting a solid 8 hours in total. The projection was around 2 to 3 hours for us, then it gradually faded to a pleasant skin scent after about 4 hours. We could still smell it on our clothes the next day.
The perfume has a smooth opening without any synthetic undertones, which we find quite impressive for a fragrance in this price range. While we do find Odyssey Homme similar to Noir Extreme, it’s not a 100% dupe—it’s about 75% similar. Noir Extreme is a bit fruitier and more pronounced, while Odyssey Homme is slightly sweeter. We also detect some resemblance to Homme Intense, mainly due to the prominent iris note.
We think Odyssey Homme is best suited for the cooler months. It’s a great fragrance that we believe works well for any occasion. Thanks to its performance and the lovely blend of Homme Intense and Noir Extreme, Odyssey Homme is one of our favorites. We’re happy to give this excellent perfume a strong 9!
Is the perfume worth it?
Even though Odyssey Homme isn't a perfect copy of Noir Extreme, it has a similar vibe. It's a bit sweeter and seems like a great mix between Noir Extreme and Homme Intense.
It’s a versatile scent that lasts a long time, making it a solid addition to any perfume collection. If the price stays around $25, we think it's a pretty good, more affordable alternative to Noir Extreme.
