REVIEW: KHAMRAH - LATTAFA
Resembles ANGELS' SHARE by KILIAN
Lattafah Khamrah is a real gem from the Middle East. We might use the word “gem” a lot, but this time we’ve got two million votes backing us up. Khamrah was actually voted the best Middle Eastern perfume of 2023 by Fragrantica’s loyal visitors.
Here’s a fun fact: the inspiration for Khamrah, Angels' Share, won the trophy for “Best Unisex Fragrance.” Khamrah came in a close second in this category, so it’s definitely worth noting.
The Scent of Khamrah
This dupe is seriously addictive. Khamrah smells like a sweet apple pastry with cinnamon and a hint of smoky bourbon. It’s rounded out with notes of praline and vanilla, making it perfect for the colder months.
Top Notes: Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Bergamot
Heart Notes: Dates, Praline, Tuberose
Base Notes: Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Amberwood, Myrrh, Benzoin
Price
Unfortunately, Khamrah has seen a price increase due to its popularity. However, you can still find it for under $35 from time to time. Here’s a look at the current prices. Shipping costs and delivery times can vary between shops.
What People Are Saying Online
With two million votes for Khamrah, you can bet the online opinions are mostly positive. That said, Khamrah isn’t an exact copy of Angels' Share.
On YouTube, CurlyFragrance tested Khamrah in one of her videos. She describes it as a lovely scent that’s a bit fresher and less boozy than Angels' Share. She’s very impressed with the performance and recommends it even if you haven’t smelled it before.
In fact, she likes Khamrah so much that she thinks it’s even better than Angels' Share, giving it a solid 9 out of 10.
Aromatix also finds it a fantastic fragrance with a great performance of over 10 hours. He describes Khamrah as a bit sexier and sweeter than the original and considers it very alluring and a real “compliment-getter”.
Reddit users are also pleased with Khamrah. While they agree it’s not an exact copy of Angels' Share, they think it stands on its own. Some users note that the opening might be a bit much and is described by some as too sweet.
We also checked out Parfumo, and, as you might expect, they have high praise for the scent:
On Fragrantica, Khamrah scores a 4.39 out of 5.
Our take
We don’t have Angels’ Share in our collection, but we’ve smelled it a few times. Lattafa Khamrah isn’t a perfect replica, but it shares the same DNA. Khamrah is less boozy and has a sweeter and, in our view, more powerful opening. It might be a bit overwhelming for some, but we really like it. The blend of dates, praline, tonka bean, and vanilla gives Khamrah a deliciously sweet gourmand scent that makes our mouths water.
Performance-wise, our experience matched what other perfume enthusiasts have said. Khamrah is a real powerhouse, lasting easily over 10 hours. The first 3 to 4 hours have strong projection and sillage, which gradually fades but remains noticeable for many hours.
The presentation is beautiful and strongly reminiscent of Angels’ Share. Unfortunately, in our excitement, we lost the cap, but that doesn't spoil the fun. The contents of the bottle are a masterpiece. We can't give Khamrah anything less than a solid 9.5.
Is Khamrah worth it?
As mentioned, along with 2 million other fans, we think Khamrah is a true gem. Despite the price increase, it still offers excellent value for money. We can't wait for fall or winter to wear it again.
While it's not an exact copy of Angels' Share, it's still a gorgeous, stand-alone fragrance with a lovely sweet opening. For those worried about it being too sweet, we recommend Sharaf Blend by Zimaya. It's slightly less sweet and has more of a boozy touch than Khamrah.
All in all, Khamrah is a delightful fragrance and definitely worth a blind buy. If you see it for under $30, don't hesitate!
