REVIEW: jorge DI profumo - maison alhambra
resembles Acqua di gio by armani
We're reviewing another perfume inspired by a popular scent that's unfortunately no longer available. Jorge di Profumo by Maison Alhambra is inspired by the well-known Acqua di Gio Profumo, which has been discontinued. The bottle looks a lot like the original, but how does the scent stack up?
The scent of Jorge di Profumo
Jorge di Profumo opens with aquatic notes mixed with bergamot, giving a fresh and citrusy start. Soon, geranium, rosemary, and sage come into play, adding a fuller, spicier touch. In the background, incense and patchouli create a smoky impression.
Top Notes: bergamot, sicillian lemon, black peper
Heart Notes: geranium, sage, rosemary
Base Notes: incense, patchouli
The Price
Jorge di Profumo is available at several online stores. Here are the current prices, but keep in mind that shipping costs and delivery times may vary.
What people are saying
There isn’t much information about this perfume online, with Fragrantica and Parfumo not listing it. Amazon has a lot of reviews for Jorge di Profumo, but opinions vary on how closely it resembles Acqua di Gio. There are mixed feelings about its longevity and projection. However, over 75% of buyers give it 4 or 5 stars.
On YouTube, there are a few longer videos discussing Jorge di Profumo. We think the best one is from the channel The Nice Smelling Gentleman because he gives a detailed review in under 6 minutes and shares his honest opinion.
As you can see, he’s fairly critical of this fragrance. He thinks it’s a versatile and pleasant scent that you can wear year-round. When compared to Acqua di Gio, Jorge di Profumo falls short in terms of quality and performance. However, considering the price, he still thinks it’s a decent fragrance.
TikToker EauDeScentsation does a quick unboxing and shares his thoughts on the opening of Jorge di Profumo. He says it captures about 70% of the original scent in this dupe.
On Reddit, most people have positive things to say and give Jorge di Profumo credit for the scent. However, many think the performance is a bit lacking.
Our take
We’ve tried Jorge di Profumo, and we agree with what others are saying about its performance and longevity. We’ve noticed that lighter, summery scents like this one don’t last as long as the heavier perfumes you might wear in colder months.
We don’t mind reapplying this scent during the day. When we spray Jorge di Profumo on our clothes, it lasts much longer. The projection lasts about an hour and is quite mild, so don’t expect it to grab everyone’s attention. On skin, it lasts around 3 hours, but on clothes, it sticks around for about 6 hours.
Unfortunately, we haven’t had the chance to smell the Armani version, but we think Jorge di Profumo is great. The addition of incense and patchouli to the aquatic and fresh citrus notes gives it a surprising twist, adding some depth with its smoky undertone.
Overall, it’s a pretty light fragrance, so you can reapply it as often as you like without it becoming overpowering. This makes it a great scent for the office. While it’s marketed as unisex, we have to admit that the smoky notes make it feel more like a men’s fragrance to us.
Conclusie
While browsing online for opinions, we came across a comment that sums up Jorge di Profumo quite nicely.
If you're looking for an exact copy of Acqua di Gio, Jorge di Profumo might not be the right choice. However, if you want a scent that comes close and offers good value for money, this one is a solid option. Just keep in mind that the performance, like the original, is on the weaker side.
